Meet Rachel, one of the incredible members of the board at Reach Literacy. Rachel is an attorney who values Reach's focus on English language accessibility in our community. Get to know her through her answers below!
Tell us about yourself, your family, and where you are from.
I grew up on a farm outside Freeman, SD. I now work as a family law attorney in Sioux Falls where I reside with my husband, two kids, and four dogs.
What interested you in being involved with Reach?
While most people may say they love to read, which I do, what drew me to Reach is their desire to make the English language accessible to everyone.
What is your favorite Reach offering and why?
My favorite Reach offering is Everyday English.
What’s a book you think everyone should read at least once in their lifetime?
I cannot name just one.
What’s one thing you think everyone should know about Reach?
Reach would not be what it is without the amazing work of its volunteers.
Do you have any goals or hopes for the future of Reach Literacy?
My hope is for people to become aware of Reach and its various offerings in order for the programs to continue to grow and literally reach the next reader.
